Self-improvement in children using the power of motivational quotes

Self-improvement is essential for everyone, not only adults, but also for children because this life is actually a path to achieve perfection. The use of motivational quotes does really help to feed positive thought patterns in the subconscious of children to lead them to success and can really give amazing results.

Lisa was truly depressed on Friday. She was totally out of sorts because her 10 years old daughter Amy had scored the lowest grades in her examination this time and her overall scholastic reports were pathetic. Lisa could do nothing except to cry and worry for the entire day. She left Amy at home with the nanny and went straight to her office. She could not poise herself properly there too and suddenly Melissa, her best friend came into her cubicle and asked her what the matter was. Lisa literally burst into tears and told her friend how her child’s performance at school had disappointed her and the bitter words the teachers had used to describe her only child. Melissa phoned a counselor, in the neighborhood and they fixed an appointment with him. He heard Lisa’s story attentively, finally suggesting her to make some changes in her daughter’s schedule and made it a point for Lisa to tell short stories to her daughter interspersed with motivational quotes.

Yes, there are stories of many great people around, politicians, scientists, successful businessmen, martyrs etc that we can use to encourage children so that the very urge for self-improvement and success is inculcated in their hearts and they start working along the lines with the help of their parents. Though this will not happen with the blink of an eye but we know that such changes take place gradually and they happen with a permanent effect.

Lisa started telling stories about successful people such as Newton, Edison and Helen Keller to Amy whenever they were together at home, or traveling and slowly Amy started feeling that there was a lot she could do to become like these great ones that her mother always discussed about. Lisa also used the famous quotes of these people to help program her daughter’s subconscious and eventually this helped. Amy became more self-dependent and started reading good books, studying and experimenting on her own. She gradually improved her grades and the day came after a few years when she became the topper at her school. Lisa was happy within for her dream had come true.

Children are a very fertile soil for planting creative ideas. This creativity has to be sown within through relating with them, giving them adequate time and finding instances where we can use motivational words that emboss on their minds making them tread on the right track to success. A very famous quote by an unknown person is” The work is difficult, that is why it is doable”. Napoleon Bonaparte once said: “Impossible is the word in the dictionary of fools”. Such quotes have a magical power to attract one’s attention and can be used as an effective self-improvement tool. They must be used when telling stories to children so that they are used in proper context and the children start pondering on them. The use of motivational quotes time and again eventually embeds the subconscious mind with positive thought patterns and one can slowly observe the welcome change in the attitude of children.

Children are the most precious treasure on earth. They must be taken care of very well because they are to become mature citizens in future with lots of responsibilities to take. The carving of a good and successful personality starts with their training at home and what else could be a better point to begin with than their bedtime when they listen to motivational quotes embedded in stories that can easily help in building their personalities.

Repeated use of motivational quotes etches certain thought patterns on the mental glass of children and they start working along the lines automatically. This is a very steady process. You can always land up with a story when you see them doing something wrong or you want to appreciate them. The parents will have to actively participate in this activity.

I am going to cover more articles about parenting and dealing with children because I conceder it a very important topic that we all should know about.
